We’re back from another blessed trip to Ethiopia with many updates to share. The major highlights of the trip include delivering our first batch of eggs to the women of Entoto and discovering the need to purchase the chicken farm land!
With only around 30 eggs, each of the 25 women sellers can double their previous salary (on average). We have another 75 women registered waiting to join the program.
LANDLORD TO SELL THE LAND
Our plan was to buy the farmland in 5-10 years
after building funds and expanding the farm. But after only a year renting the land, the landlord has decided to break the rental lease and put up the land for sale for fast cash.
We must consider the possibility that future landowners may displace us and that
moving may risk losing many of the chickens
due to stress. This could affect the consistency
of eggs delivered to the women. So, even
before we knew to place this before God,
God prompted the church to act, helping
us raise much of the funds needed to
consider purchasing the land.
We’re not there yet, but we know our God
is faithful and has gotten us this far by His own hand. So, we look forward to His answer to prayer!
