Live Out Hope Projects

The Intoto Farm

We are partnering with the women of Intoto to build a farm. This farm will be a place where many can work to produce and sell valuable commodities like butter, milk, and eggs in the market. With rising meat and dairy prices, a farm is a lucrative endeavor and is vastly less strenuous than carrying firewood down the mountain. Building this farm will allow us to employ those struggling to survive right now in their current job of carrying firewood.

We at Live Out Hope have purchased a plot of land where we’ve built our very first dairy farm. We will also provide training, to teach these women how to care for the cows and chickens that will live on the farm. And finally, we have future plans to build housing and schooling for the mother’s and their children.

We’re currently in the process of working with the Ethiopian government to submit a proposal for the dairy farm and find an appropriate plot of land to on which to build! Help us meet our goal of providing sustainable work for these families.

The Haifa School

The Ethiopian Jewish communities in Israel are experiencing a crisis within the family. Parents and children do not share a common language. This disconnect may explain why many young Ethiopian Jewish kids feel disconnected from both the Ethiopian and Israeli communities. And sadly, though they are the smallest minority of Israeli citizens, they make up the largest group of incarcerated Jews in Israel. Our Hebrew and Tech Literacy School teaches Hebrew to those who need it, and helps the young students and incarcerated youth to learn tech that will make them more competitive and successful in the Israeli job market.
